About Dr. David Lintner
orthopedic sports medicine specialist
In
June 2005, Dr. Lintner was named Chief of Sports Medicine at the The Methodist
Hospital in Houston after serving in a similar capacity at Baylor College of
Medicine for four years. He is the President of the Major League Baseball Team
Physicians Association. He continues in the capacity as the Head Team Physician
for the Houston Astros, Team Physician for the Houston Texans and Head Team
Physician for The Houston Dynamo Major League Soccer Team. He is also the Head
Team Physician for Lee College and cares for many high schools in the Greater
Houston area. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder
and is active in teaching orthopedic surgeons the latest techniques. Dr. Lintner
also specializes in injuries to throwers' shoulders and elbows. He has written
numerous scientific articles about throwers shoulder and elbow injuries. He is
the founder and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship training program at
The Methodist Hospital. In 2005 Dr. Lintner was the Keynote Speaker at the
Congress of Futbol Injuries in Madrid, Spain. In 2000, he was selected Traveling
Fellow for the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine and went on a
three week tour of Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan where he was a
Visiting Professor at multiple universities as well as the National Sports
Councils in Malaysia and Hong Kong. Dr. Lintner has published extensively in the
orthopedic literature and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic
Surgery.

Dr. Lintner received his B.A. from
Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences, Ithaca, NY where he was named
Scholar-Athlete of the year (lacrosse) in 1982. He received his M.D. from the
University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, New York.
He completed his Internship in General Surgery at the University of Rochester as
well as his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Lintner served as a Fellow in
Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.
